Loud House - Lisa and Lucyn

Hoo boy..

So this picture took way longer than it needed to. Basically, I spent half the time it took experimenting with stuff and messing around. Mostly with the color, but also a little bit with hatching and other stuff.

Not all of it stuck, and I don't think everything I kept works completely either, but that's alright. I think ya gotta mess around with art sometimes to get better.

Anyways the idea for the picture came about when I was watching another artist I like(called PlagueOfGripes) doing a trifusion -- taking three characters and mixing them with one another to get 3 fusions and then combining those into the final (tri)fusion. It's a very fun concept. I didn't just want to do a fusion though, so I thought up some half-baked scenario which would allow for the fusion to occur.

My name for her is 'Lucyn' or 'Lucynn'. I also considered Lyncy but I prefer Lucyn.

Fusions are hard. It's not just about taking elements from character A and B and slapping them together.. You really have to think about what elements of each character are similar, which are different.. That's just from a character standpoint. The actual drawing itself also has some issues you have to work through. Which shapes, lines, and features are common between the characters? Which do you keep and which do you discard? How do you decide on colors? Etc etc..

Anyways I'm not 100% happy with how Lucyn turned out from a design standpoint, but I'm reasonably satisfied. I might try improving her later.

I wonder if the process is reversible?
